Determine application scenarios and contact media:
Clinical consumables (infusion/catheterization, etc.): It is necessary to clarify whether they come into contact with medication, blood or gas, and avoid contact with media incompatible with PVC (such as strong oxidants, some organic solvents).
Equipment matching/laboratory: distinguish between high-pressure transmission (such as negative pressure suction) or low-pressure drainage, whether the medium is reagents, waste liquid or steam, and select pressure resistant and corrosion-resistant models accordingly.
Confirm sterilization method:
Ethylene oxide sterilization: Most soft PVC pipes can be adapted, and products labeled as "EO compatible" should be selected to avoid material aging after sterilization.
High pressure steam sterilization: Only specific high-temperature resistant PVC pipes can be used (short-term tolerance of 121 ℃). Conventional PVC pipes should avoid high-temperature sterilization to prevent deformation and release of harmful substances.
Alcohol/iodine disinfection: It is necessary to ensure that PVC pipes are resistant to disinfectant corrosion and have no risk of cracking or discoloration.
Clear usage form:
Disposable: Priority should be given to selecting soft PVC pipes that meet the standards for disposable medical consumables to ensure sterility and biocompatibility.
Reuse: It is necessary to choose reinforced PVC pipes that are resistant to repeated disinfection and wear (such as woven mesh reinforcement) to avoid performance degradation after multiple uses.
